Slow week for archery moose
Just got back from moose hunting in 15B last week. A full moon and hot sunny days with lots of blackflies made for very slow hunting. Usually we call in several moose a day but this year it took 5 days just to get a response! One of our guys finally got a young bull on thursday. Also saw lots of bears (at least a dozen) and two big packs of wolves. The old timers in my party said it was the worst hunting in 18 years. Hopefully things will pick up when deer season heats up in November.

I'm still in Tbay. Deer here are breeding like rabbits. They are pushing the moose out more every year. I would like to see the MNR throw a few deer tags in with every moose tag just to let us weed them out a bit. Moose are a precious resource in my opinion, deer are just small game which you can find anywhere that half a dozen trees grow together. When they get into my garden I think of them more as long-legged rats. OK maybe I'll make an exception for the big bucks, but you have to get through alot of does to find a nice rack LOL.
