the law reads gun must be unloaded and trigger locked or unloaded and in a locked room or cotainer that is not easily open or broken into .. now comes the best part officers discresion what is easily open or broken into ...when my house was broken into last october the first officer did not consider my container to his discretion .... the sargent did. the only thing that saved me was that they were all trigger locked ps if they re triggerlocked you can leave em lieing in the corner my suestion isto buy some close line and make some cable locs cheap,,but effective

bgunner, thanks. Exactly why I was asking. Since it is pad locked, it may be conceived to be easily broke into, although the lock is hidden in the adjoning shelf. As far as passage locks we all know how hard they are to beat. I think I will invest in some more trigger locks or deadboldts for the 2 doors to that room, just in case. Then if the police do show up to bug me, i can get the wife to run a screen...hehe. I actually don't expect that to happen but one never knows. I was more thinking in case of theft.

As to regards to trigger locks ,it's a total waste of time. A friend of mine forgot his key at home and all it took was two screw drivers and two seconds to bust the lock.

Thats a can of worms you don't need to open seadog, i think most of us have bought enough trigger locks to justify someones early retirement. Don't need them to realize its easy to break into them and get a new law saying we also need grapple grommits to shove in the barrels at the gunowners expense. Its not what you win its what you lose in the end that counts.

Right on Dobber...no sense educating the idiots on Parliment Hill on the trigger lock issue!!!!!!!!!! The law says trigger locks, I have tigger locks...so what if a 2 year old could open them....not to say that mine are cheapies, but you know what I am saying...just my .02 cents worth....Brampton Mike

I don't own a trigger lock and have no plans on owning any.I have seen too many people go hunting and not be able to find the key at camp. Some of the cheap locks are easy to remove but some do take a little effort and can be miserable without tools.I keep my guns in a locked windowless compartment in my basement protected by a deadbolt. When in my vehicle they are locked in my cargo box.
