Ok my Canadian comrades.....
The time has come for me to get serious on my soon to be Canadian adventure. It is Friday Nov. 11th and I leave tomorrow morning at 6 am for Edmomton. I have forty eleven things to do today[8D]
I have great granpa's thurty thurty and a few pairs of pants and shirtsalready packed.
Is there anything else that I might need?
It's in the mid 80's here and I could use some cool weather

DoubleA, you might not find much in the way of snow and at present the forecast isn't great for cold weather during the day, however they are often wrong! BUT you should get the doe's in estrus wish, signs here are pointing towards it is very near. They are calling for a few cold overnight temps next week which never hurts.
I have seen an increase in the bucks attitude, they are starting to tail does, stinkand wander. The pecking order is also being dealt with and general nervousness is in the air when bucks enters the scene...these are all signs that soon mean women being courted. I can only assume the NW is getting close and I have seen the most rutting activity in that area around the 16-18th. I am heading to the cabin next week for a day or two for a change of scenery so I am hoping they are acting like around home.
Best of luck and hope you get apierceland monarchs! Who are you hunting with up there, anyways??? (maybe it is were you?... by now) Enjoy

Hey JD and skeeter, I'm back from the Zone! By the way zulu, I didn't get a buck or a shot but I don't regret spending the "big bucks" for my hunt in Alberta, which is a great place to hunt Giants. I had a great time. JD, sorry I couldn't hook up with you but I had a problem getting my main piece of luggage from Toronto. I finally got it the day after I arrived.
I saw about 18 or 20 deer during my 6 day hunt. Five bucks that I saw for sure and some I couldn't identify. No monsters. I brought two in with the Can. One decent 8pt came in from behind but I couldn't turn around for a shot without spooking him. It was neat! I saw 5 coyotes and had 2 cow moose come within 20 yrds of my stand, that was awsome!
I stuck to my guns and hunted hard, dark to dark all six days. I also had a doe that must have been around 200lbs within 20yrds. These deer are huge! Just for the record, I will be going back next year for sure. My guide put me in some great spots. Funnels and travel corridors ect. That is some prime habitat up there. Also the weather wasn't too bad except for that clipper that went through on Thursday. From calm and70 to 45mph wind and 40degree temps in five mins. Bizzar!
How are you two guys making out up to now? I'm looking forward to hearing from the both of you soon!

Early in, to bad you never filled your tag but sounds like you had a good trip and enjoyed it...which is the main thing.
For me season has been great but unfortunately things haven't panned out like I had been dreaming. My ML zone bucks are playing hard to get and whileI have seen afew nice bucks that way the ever thought of "what if" pops into my mind and I end up passing. I took a breakfor acouple days this week from my spots in the ML and headed north to see if I couldnotch my forest only either-sex tag. I ended up rattling in this 5x5, I never got a super look at him as he was trying to slip to my back door but obviously figured looked pretty good at that point so slipped him a 150gr NBT.
What you all think he'd score...just curious?
Still hoping to get a crack with my first either-tag, I have a few more weeks till the 05' season is in the books(Dec. 3).
Best of luck to all and keep us posted.

Skeeter that's one beautiful buck you got, you should be real pleased with yourself. I know I would be. And youcan take another buck? In Pa they only let us take one buck per year. Yes, even though I didn't get a buckin Alberta I really had a great time. That is some unbelievable habitat. My guide put me in some awsome setups and he was always on top of the wind direction! He really knows the farms he has access also. Like I said, I did see at least 5 bucks I could identify and I wouldn't see 5 in one week here in Pa so I'm happy with that. I will be going back next year! You can count on it.

I am crossing my fingers to get one that nice on my trip down to your province this weekend. I am no pro by any means, but I would guesstimate 150? it is hard for me to judge mass... how think are his bases, and how long are those back tines. Definatly a wall hanger in my books

Well good luck with your other tag, if I dont talk to yah before Saturday ill post pics of any buck I may get when I get home.
