Well, after much consideration I think I have decided. Looks like I'll start my hunting season on Thursday November 7 and my last day will be Saturday 23 November. So I'll have some of the first week and the whole of the second and third week. I managed to get a couple of days extra off from work so I'm lucky. I'll have 14 days that I can go hunting and will spend each and every one of them in the woods. My dad is going to take a week off too so we can go together. All my uncles and some of my cousins will join us. I can't wait!

Kezar...I think that sounds like an absolutely wonderful time. Your choice of time frames sounds great and exactly what I would recommend. I'll be going up on the same day as you, but have to come back on the 17th. You stand a good chance of missing the warmer early weather, and you probably won't get that end of season crusty snow that stays around for the last week most years. Hunt hard, hunt well, be safe. The bear season stays open though the whole rifle deer season.

In fact, the only time a hunting license holder can hunt bear in Maine without acquiring a bear permit is during the open firearms season on deer.

My Buddies have a place in Unity we usually hunt the first week of gun but this year we are bow hunting during Columbus holiday week we have about the same luck with either bow or gun.
