Default Pa. BUCKS ARE loosing antlers

I was bored yesterday ,so I drove to the local federal park. Of course no hunting there. I seen 117 deer feeding in the field. Had my spotting scope. 31 buck and 11 had lost at least one side .I could easily see the scabs on their heads when they put their heads down to feed. Just neat to see that many deer fedding in the open in daylight hours. The department of interior policeman came by and wanted to see that I was not hunting. He said hey go up to the next field the big buck is out feeding. So I went to the top field and there was another 50 deer and a 19 Pt monster. a main frame 14 pt with 5 stickers including a foot long droptine. He just stood there 75 yards off the road .Looked up occasionaly at me. He new He was safe in that park. Then I got sad to think soon they will be having the hit men in with machine guns and mow the deer down.

I picked up a set of sheds last Valentine's Day while walking my dog thru a corn field of mine about 1/2 mile from my house. Actually the dog found one side and was laying there chewing on it when I walked up.....anyway in less than 5 minutes I found the other side..............he was/is a mainframe 10 and given a normal distance between bases for a 4-5 yr old buck he scores 163 5/8. I gave them to the local gun club and they had them put together like a normal rack and mounted on a plauge to hang on the clubhouse wall.........this year in archery season the neighbor kid 17 yrs old killed that buck or his twin (< 200 yds from where I picked up those sheds) the last week of archery season, he scored 1683/8 as a 5 yr old............must be one of the bucks Dr. Cut N Run saved...........

To get back on topic: There are still plenty of bucks packin horns! Our gang put three bucks out Saturday on private land that is open to all. Two were very nice bucks and one was a forkie. All still had both horns.

Too bad they didnt give anyone a decent shot
