Finally saw some deer.

I was out last night and finally had a buck and a doe come in right under my stand. Too bad he was only 4 months old and maybe 40 pounds
. Either way it was a successful hunt just being able to watch them browse for 10 minutes. I don't think that there's another sport in which you can come back without doing what you set out to do and still consider it successful.

bearlr,
It is always nice to hear from someone who is honest. I have hunted with people who exaggerated and outright lied about what they saw/did. There's nothing worse than not being able to rely on information from a habitual liar. Congratulations on seeing your first deer. But even when you didn't, you did better than me. I haven't been out at all yet. Two toddlers and a wife on seemingly perpetual PMS is as effective in keeping me from hunting as a ball and chain!

Just seeing deer does it for me too. That's what I consider a succesful hunt IMO. Actually just being in the woods does it for me.
