Well guys last night I went out spotting for a little bit and I came across 3 bucks in this soy bean field, none of them were monsterous just a small 8, a decent six pointer and then another Y buck, but what was really interesting was the six pointer and the eight pointer were establishing their pecking order last night, they would feed a little bit, then they would push each other around for a little bit and then go right back to feeding. It was interesting to watch, and to hear the sound of antlers clashing this early in the year. Isn't that odd though for this early in the year?

Not at all. Like you said they are trying to find out who will be the boss in the area, and with that who will be breeding. In time it will get more physical, and louder!!!!!

One year on opening day, things were really slow, so i ticked my arrow shaft against the limbs and quiver of arrows to simulate sparring. Three bucks came right in and started sparring in front of me for awhile. A nice eight, a six and a forkie. They just played around and then left in separate directions. I couldn't get a shot at the eight, he was always behind one of the others or a tree or bad angle. Nice to see it though.
