You and are normally on the same page but I have to disagree with that stereotype of the potential crossbow user. In my opinion crossbow use does not automatically equate with poaching. Heck, a compound or stickbow is a quieter weapon than a crossbow even if it isn't precocked with a scope.
I am sure we will get some slob hunters out there but not necessarily the numbers that most folk expect. Heck, once they find out that it is hot during regular archery season then most of them will go home to the air conditioning....

I hope you're right on this one! Time will tell. I realize not every crossbow owner will be a poacher but I can't help but think that most poachers are inherently lazy and the perception is out there that crossbows are easy to kill a deer with. this is one of those times I'd rather wind up proven wrong.
