From PA here.

I wouldnt waste a minute hunting public land in PA. Amazing what has happened in the past 13 years.

I hear a ton of good things about Ohio and I know many who leave PA for rifle season every year for Ohio and the midwest.

Some pics I got in MA last week. I got pics of 7 different bucks in one week from the same spot. Any guesses on score?

Ohio is considered midwest, not northeast.

I say wv the Monongahela national forest is over 921,000 acres. The George Washington forest has 123,629 acres in wv. So their Is lots of public hunting. Also with the combination of wma of 1.4 million acres.

They're too busy hiding their honey hole! Besides, they have to keep going back to the same place to fill up their feeder and check their trail cam.

Anywhere is good if you can find plenty of farm land and ask permission. I am a Wv native and I love hunting here in the eastern panhandle. Plenty of deer and some realy nice bucks. The buck in my avatar is one I killed on MY 10 acres in 06 and have seen plenty of 160-170 class deer on the farm next to me but havent got close enough (bowhunter).

I hunt many places on my own both US & Canada. Hunting in PA is OK...more deer, smaller than I like. But no Sunday hunting is crazy so I eliminate it. NY >> I was born there. Daks has some monsters you hunt hard for a week and see one tail. The remote woods puts a whole new meaning on hunting and separates the men from the boys . I gut a deer for a first time hunter in the Daks 192 B&C 12 pt. That will keep anyone going back there. Catskills reminds me of PA only you can Sunday hunt NH>>I live in NH now and you need to "find" the right spot. Again the north woods are remote and very few deer also not as large as NY. Maine >> hunted Maine for years and just have not come across a buck I want to shoot BUT I keep going back. Another place like the Daks...big bucks hard to find. The remote places like the Daks & Maine its all about the weight not the monster rack you get from Canada. If you get a 200 pounder you have done well. The bottom line for me is getting out there. I pass up more bucks than I shoot, that's my choice. Everyone has a different trophy in their mind and they are all equal. Good Luck to all!

Highball>>>deer on the left is younger may go 130..Deer on the right might have 2 yrs on him I'm guessing his rack is diminished by age
