no doubt the HR reduced herd but bad habitat is not helping also ,then throw in coyotes WE NEVER HAD and dumb a bears who now like fawn meat do to lack of berries etc do to droughts,no doubt all are reducing the herd.

these coyotes /bears are doing number on fawns, then throw in all dmap tags and doe tags and hunters that just want meat, not sport of it.wonder we have any deer left.

i hate it when i hear locally,I FILLED THE FREEZER AGAIN.

WMU 2G had bad habitat , coyotes , bears and drought in 2003 when it produced a harvest of over 30K deer.. In 2008 those same conditions only produced a harvest of 13,300 deer, when it could still be producing harvests of over 25,000.

Maybe if we had that license increase that your USP buddies are fighting, the PGC could fill that vacant WCO position

There are 79K tags left in 5C and 60K left in 2B . How many of those bonus tags do you think they would sell at $30/tag?

Most (probably not all but most) of the 2B tags will eventually be sold. Since they havent sold out in a while, there's no urgency among the locals around here to get one. I generally try to see to it that 6 or 7 does get taken from my area in 2B whether by me, a friend or my kids. I usually buy 3-4 tags before season and get more over the counter as needed. I'm sure I'm not the only one who buys their second, third etc after taking one.

There's also the guys who simply wait till just before gun season and another group that chooses to get 2B's after not scoring further from home.

The PGC only sold 20,682 non-resident antlerless tags in 2008. Less than half of non-resident hunters bought a doe tag and the number of non-resident hunters is steadily declining.

Only ones i hear say they cant believe how cheap the license fees are, are the pgc supporters who want a fee increase.lol

Then when we compare to other states... Like WV. Where you can buy a hunting + muzzleload + archery + trapping + fishing and more... all combined for 33 bucks... And the same for us total is well over a hundred....

Well lets just say there agument isnt worth a hill of deer beans.

I do agree though sproul, the antlerless tags particularly are underpriced imho.
