The last thing any of us should want is for lawmakers to get involved. Unfortunately, in my case, I felt the sportsman in my area weren't being heard by the BOCs and we/I were forced to go to the lawmakers for resolution. Sad but true.

Helped get our antlerless season cut from 2 weeks to one week. Tag allocations were cut from 52K to 19K to 26K over the last few years. Apparently the lawmakers had some pull when it came to relief. Sure as hell wouldn't have gotten any relief from Hill, Palone or Schleiden.:s4:

hunting on SGL is just plain AWFUL.best HABITAT in world and WORST hunting i have ever seen.its just to easy to clean deer,turkeys,grouse,rabbits ,sqirrreals out of place.

last year i took toby to sgl in williamsport area.i flushed 1 pheasant for about 3 hrs of hunting.i had 1 hunter with 2 springers tell me,SPROUL YOU KNEW I WAS HUNTING IN THIS CORNFIELD.isnt rules you cant hunt in standing corn on sgl?well that guy ruined my day.

so toby was tired and i was too,dang 7 pds of 12 gauge gets to you at times.when i got to truck i could not believe the hunters ROAD HUNTING with english setters.down came windows and this was said,SPROUL DID YOU SEE ANY PHEASANTS.I THINK THIS GUY FELT I WOULD LIE TO HIM BUT I ALWAYS TELL TRUTH HUNTING.
i said, YES TOBY FLUSHED A ****BIRD.this guy said, where ,where?i said,SEE THAT FARM HOUSE ABOUT 1 MILE OR SO AWAY.he said, YES.i said, WELL THATS WHERE THE BIRD LANDED.he pulled over his blazer, jumped out,let the setters out and at dead run sort of headed for that farm house 1 mile away...........

that told me you can have the BEST habitat in world but if hunting pressure is not regulated you will have very poor hunting.i think this sgl goes over 15 miles or so too.
this year i am going to hunt in hen area where you cant shoot a hen.at least that is great hunting.my only worry is if i will be arrested if i shoot behind the hen,TOBY does not take it lightly if i dont shoot on every flush,dang dog comes over and barks at me.:rolleye0011:

many s,the BOC did not listen to politicians also.powers to be have taken over all high places.it starts with governor and you can bet that POWERFUL people are running the show,its all about money.

there are 2 douge.JOBS douge, jobs.positions douge, positions. -politics is involved.anti hunting groups or let me say, GROUPS THAT HAVE INTEREST IN MAKING MONEY,MAKING POSITIONS,BENEFITING FROM THINGS ARE IN POWER.

FOR EXAMPLE, IF THE POWERFUL dcnr SAYS, GOVERNOR DEER ARE KILLING FOREST,he will jump.timber groups,insurance lobbyists same.bird groups, same.non hunting groups, same.look around, very few hunters are in top positions in state.
why?because normal hunters like us are not city dwellers,highly educated and come from affluent ,connected to government families.these people controlling things had pull the day they were born.they have MONEY..........

i see it all time on PROMOTIONS.well connected..........YES, they throw us bone once in awhile,promote someone THEY can control hoping that we just shut up.


only way we can change that is if hunters back a large group and support that group like the USP with money.but look at groups that are in pockets of state .some are federation hunting groups,trying to get POSITION.

heck our local club president walked the talk of DCNR HOPING to get big position on the ROCKY MOUNTAIN ELK GROUP.i heard he was not picked,boo hoo.

most have reason/agenda and its POWER position to advance THEMSELVES at cost of us hunters.once in there THEY WALK THE TALK....

well week later gas is bubbling up in lycoming creek stream found by a fisherman.another was fined and state said, THOSE WHO DID IT ARE BEING FINED AND THEY WERE NOT ONE OF THE TOP COMPANIES DRILLING FOR GAS.you have laugh,we have
