Default Blew my chance!

Roosted a bird last night, got in this morning, set up below him.He gobbled his head off then some hens started up and I copied them and they weren't happy. Finally around 6 they fly down on top of the ridge. I keep doing some yelps and what not and a little bit later they parade down - 3 hens, 1 jake, and a big old gobbler bringing up the rear in a strut. It's all my bad though... farther than I thought, excited and rushed, the side I had him on, couldn't stedy my gun, I shot, he jumped in the air, turn and rain out and to my left...I think maybe he looped behind back with his hens maybe...

So the good news is it looks like I'm the only one hunting this bird....so what are my chances now? Will he calm down and be back to his routine with the hens?

If you are set on this bird, give him a couple day's of non-hunting. Just go in the evenings and mornings to see if he is still in the area and figure his routine. Once you determine this is the same bird, work him from a different set-up and use a different call and calls on him. Or just go after another bird.GOOD LUCK![/align]
