I wonder if I blew it?
Some of you may have read the post about "meeting the boss of the woods" this morning. I posted it on Monday.
I had hung out 2 Wildlife Research Golden Estrous leaves and this Big Buck came right in on it just at dawn. It happened so fast. I had enough time to grab the bow and pull it back just as he reached the scent leaf. Then he literally jumped 180 degrees and took a step behind a couple small trees and looked right up at me.
Then bounded away 30 yards and stood where it was thick for about 1 minute or so. He never blew at me or snorted. I could see the horns but not the body and then he was gone. Never saw him or heard him leave. He just vanished.
I forgot to mention that when he stopped after he bolted the 30 yards, I grunted to him. In hind site do you think I should have just sat still and waited to see if he would come back in???? He was still downwind of the both scent leaves. Your thoughts?
