explorer_Jack.The data was there. Of all the e-mails the commissioners received, 90% opposed 10% for.
Isn't that biased though? I bet 90% of those was from bow hunters.

"When only the bow hunters speak their opinions at these hearings and so on"

The commissioners emails, phone and mailbox accepts correspondence from bowhunters, rifle hunter, muzzleloader hunters and even birdwatchers. Pgc asked for input, got it, then did just the opposite. Not my opinion. Thats what happened. i dont expect them to play guessing games or look into crystal balls. If they announce a request for public input, it shouldve been used when they got their response. Btw, I have friends that dont bow hunt that also have contacted pgc and said NO to crossbows.

"I am surprised your PGC didn't have it set up that way to check your previous deer harvest with a questionaire like that. You had to fill out the report card before you got your new license of your harvest the year before. "

People have been asking for such a poll that could include many issues. Fact is, Pgc doesnt care ONE BIT about what the hunters want. The crossbows arent the only issue. This has been a recurring theme for nearly a decade now. They hold open houses on most issues of significance and then do exactly the opposite of what the hunters want that give their opinions.

I should of said it as in, If you asked the weekend hunters,The so called ones who don't go out or scout as many have said on here. Those hunters out numbers all archers and AR hunters by a huge amount. And those ones would agree that Xbows should be legal. Who did they ask the input from? RSB just said he doesn't work for the hunter but for all the people of that state. They could of polled antis for all we know now.

Come on now. You think the weekend hunter wouldn't want these new weapons? If it gives them another option for taking a deer,I would think that is a big yea. How many would want to use semi-autos for hunting in PA? If it gives a better chance at taking a animal or just to be cool to use,I say yea they would want it.

If you had a chance to vote on if Americans should be able to purchase a M16 without extra paper work. What would the answer be you think?

You know, I just got my brand new Ross Cardiac 34 in the mail on Monday. I could have got the Stryker instead! Boy am I ticked - NOT.
I have no problem living with the fact that the xbows are now legal. It just thatthe PGC asks for publics opinion time after time and just does what it wants to anyway. They could be considered a dictatorship. IMO these "officers" are nothing but a group of a**holes with the power to issues game laws - public opinion be damned.

I'll know more about the impact during the first week of October 2009. That is the time when hunters from New England flock to my area for the opening week of archery season. These guys don't come for the scenic beauty or for a walk in the woods. They come to kill deer. And they are skilled. If they show up with crossbows in hand, God save the deer herd.

They also extended ML season 2 weeks also. Not sure if it was for the whole state or what part. Anyone know this?
