RE: pa antler restrictions yes or no?
\Remember it was you that claimed antler quality dramatically improved due to ARs and then back tracked and claimed it ws the number of 2.5+ buck , not the quality. Then B Jim claimed the rack sizes increased even though you claimed they didn't.

RE: pa antler restrictions yes or no?
Of course you said it and here is the quote you ask for.
There are a lot of "bugs" in the current state of deer management but it totally baffles me how you and Bluebird2 can continue to deny the dramatic improvement in the average antler quality across the state. I don't know what you are drinking , but save some for me |

Well Mr. clinton ,what is your definition of the word "is". The fact is you don't even understand the meaning of what you post and then try to deny that you said what you posted.
There is absolutely no evidence to support your claim that antler quality dramatically improved due to ARs. |
RE: pa antler restrictions yes or no?
As I recall from doing a study on my own , for the percent of bucks born in a certain year, our BB harvest was around 33%, 1 1/2 year old around 33% and 2 1/2 year olds and older was also around 33%. This was done over a three year harvest.
Our BB harvest going back before HR & AR, was running in the 20% range of total antlerless harvest. As the herd decreased, this % stayed pretty even, it was just to total BB put into thepoll has been reduced, just like the total antlered harvest went down. If your hunting an area that has been overharvest, if you have to take a deer home, you are better off taking a BB than a mature doe. That mature doe will possibly give you another BB and female fawn thefollowing year. That female fawn will probably not be bredand if she is, her fawn will be late born fawn. |
