Well the season began the way it ended, nothing. Heard one coming down the edge of the cornfield towards the stand about 6:05am, but it cut into the cornfield and I never saw it. 8am the wind turned east and it was time to bug out. Will be back out there Monday morning.

I drove to the farm this afternoon but the deer flys and bigger flys wouldn't let me out of the truck. I said to hell with this, it would have been more unenjoyable than enjoyable. Might just wait till it cools a bit. Where I hunt in Md we have no problem at all with these pests and that's only another 2 weeks. I do have another place here in De that the state just purcashed and will be bow only this year because they can't get stands up in time. I was in there last week and the pest problem wasn't near as bad. Might check that out closer tomorrow and hunt it Mon.

Another quiet morning. eard nothing, saw nothing. Alot of shooting though around. A few dead geese and doves I think.
Might give state land a try tomorrow. I'll see how I feel when I get up.
