Hi guys. I am near Muncy, PA (just southeast of Williamsport, PA) and just purchased a pointer puppy. I am looking for land to train on, keep a SMALL quail recall pen on and get this pup ready for fall. I am willing to sign a release for any liability. I am not interested in hunting, I just want to train a dog there. Anyone know of anyone or have land they would allow me to use close to Muncy or Williamsport? I can not really help you out with this but, I was wondering do have public land someplace that is available for this?

Phill we are lucky in PA to have lots of public land. but the problem is i think he wants to put a recall pen up. and this would not be an option. fact i think the only birds you are aloud to train on puplic land in pa is chuckar. and i think you need a permit for them.

Yeah, here you need a permit for this to unless you are on your own land, but you can not shoot without the permit.But, the permit is pretty cheap here and you can train and shoot with it, including Sundays. It is called a prpagation permit and it is only like $25 here so it is not bad you just have to let them know where you will be doing this on the permit. Only here we can use pen raised pheasants, quail,and chucker..
