RE: Land in Maryland?
One day hunting is going to be a rich mans sport... Mark my words!!!!
Alot of truth to that.
Speaking only of E.Shore of Maryland.I worked on E.Shore for over 20 yrs.Superb hunting and fishing!
I was fortunate enough to hunt some small farms for Zip! I knew alot of very large land owners but never able to get onto a really Big farm for anything I could afford.5-10-20K for a season is a drop in the bucket over there.
What drives up the price of hunting ground is the Deep Pockets in D.C.,Baltimore,Philly etc...Guys that will spend whatever it takes to hunt for a season or just 1 day. These guys will tip a guide/owner more than I spend in one year for my little 200 acres in Delaware.I've heard of guys that give owner/guide new gun for a 1 day goose hunt!!
The average Joe Smo can't compete with that.
Having said that - If all that keeps farmers/land owners from selling off to a developer - So be It.There are alot of land owners who as we speak are buckling to the offers of developers.
Those guys truly have the Deeeep Pockets and would build over there mothers grave for the allmighty $$$
Anyway - e4 good luck finding some ground to hunt.If you know anybody on E.Shore talk to them.Where theres a will there is a way

I went to Frederickburg VA this past weekend. Man, very nice deer country! Only thing is, it's slowly diminishing due to development. Have we really become so eager as to wipe out all our beautiful land in the US?We really can't do anything either! [:@]

yep, as stated, i cant even begin to imagine the prices for land anywhere in MD. I cant even find a reasonable lease. I have found ones for like 106 acres for like 10 grand, but its for 4-6 hunters and its just me. I wish i could find a reasonable land owner who doesnt want to drive someone to be homeless that would give me just 50 acres for 500 bucks, 10 an acre easy and simple. but life isnt that easy lol. of the thousands or millions of acres in MD, i cant even find 50! lol or 20. its really crazy.
