Saw an Eagle along Lake Erie shoreline

year round human activity on it and that may be moving the birds to a less disruptive location.
I am not to sure about that, here there is a nest right be side route #1 in Calais, Me. It was put up for ospreys but the eagles claimed it. It is located on Moosehorn Wildlife Refuge right beside the road. They also come down and visit us when we are fishing and even sit on the ice and watch us for a while. Here is a pic of one that was sitting on the ice here, yesterday while a buddy and me was fishing.

Phil - I'm not sure of that either. It was simply a hypothesis.

Presque Isle looks to be the perfect place for eagle nests and I'm not sure what else would explain their seeming reluctance to nest there.

Here is a pic of one that was sitting on the ice here, yesterday while a budyy and me was fishing.
That's almost exactly how the Eagle looked yesterday on the ice, except you've got alot more pines on the shoreline than we do. Gotta start keeping a camera with me at work.

I LIVE IN ERIE CO. DUCK HUNT THE NIAGARA RIVER, DURING THE LATE SEASON WE SEE THEM EVERY YAER. HAVE SEEN UP TO 5 IN 1 YEAR. THEY HAVE A NEST ON NAVY IS.. YOU CAN SEE THEM FROM GRAND IS. AT HTE PUMPING STATION NEAR BUCKHORN STATE PARK. I DONT KNOW HOW LONG THEY STAY AROUND BUT THEY ARE FANTASIC TO WATCH.
