Tionesta

It is on mostly public land but I dont really wish to broadcast the location here. It's a group of fairly small streams that wouldn't handle a lot of pressure. It's a little slice of trout heaven that I purposely only visit once or twice a year.
It is out there within 20 minutes of Tionesta though!<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

I did find one downside to the Tionesta area. Any boat that uses the Nebraska Bridge ramp to launch must have a PA registration. As a part time outdoor writer, I have fished in a lot of states and have never seen anything like this.
An Ohio resident, like me, would have to re-title the boat in PA and pay another sales tax. It is not the money that bothers me as much as the restriction. It really turned me off to the area, and PA in general.

There is a Corps of Engineers ramp at the other end of the lake that charges a daily or annual fee.
The Nebraska ramp was built from a fund for access facilities funded solely by boater registration fees. I think non residents can buy an access permit without reregistering their boat. Check with the Pa fish and boat commission. I know I see a lot of Ohio boats in particular using that launch ramp.

I understand about the launch being built with funds from registration fees, but we use the same fees here in Ohio & I cannot think of a ramp for us only.

Check with the Pa fish & Boat commission. Maybe there'es a reciprocal deal of some sort. I just know that a lot of Ohio Guys use that launch area and I havent heard of any of em getting hassled by the fish fuzz and the carp cops do seem to hang out there!
Maybe I'll see you there someday.
