"Unlike the USP, we know what it means"
Joe I didn't post it under the authority of the USP. Remember, these are PGC figures. I posted it because it shows exactly as you note, that you and now all of us know that it means Pennsylvania is hemoraging hunters. It shows that a great manyPA hunters as well as Non-Resident hunters who are very much dissatisfied with how the agency is managing deer across PA. It shows that the PGC has abandoned it's best customer, the hunter and trapper. But more importantly, it shows in detail that youragency is terribly mismanaged.
The General Assembly has nothing to do with this terrible decline in license buyers and the loss of much needed monies to the agency. The fault lies within the Executive Managers and the Board of Commissioners.
As far as the hunting location, it's just as I thought...Private Land. You really should try State Game Lands on opening day. They are the Jewels of the agency.
Will there be an article in the Penn Game News at the end of the season with photos of the Board of Commissioners and the Executive Staffwith their kills on State Game Lands?

John - you keep missing the point. The numbers you think show one thing don't. It's too funny.
Tell you what - if you're so sure of yourself, call my bluff. Please send an e-mail to all the members of the General Assembly tomorrow under your personal name or the USP and let me formally respond per my job responsibility.
p.s. shouldn't 15% of PGC employees hunt on public land since 15% of the and in PA is public? Or are we just better at interpersonal skills?

Having all PA hunters giving up hunting could be a good thing. I could finally open up my deer extermination business and get paid to hunt. Everyone thinks deer are cute until they eat the $100 bushes you just planted.

Crazy horse your figures are false, therewere no anterless tag sales in July 2005 or July2006, so how can any data be presented on anterless license sales? Why not bring up the fact that anterless licenses were a week later this year, this fact could very easily push license sale back a week.
Neville,
First, dont mistake me for a USP supporter, I beilieve they are way off base and have been so for years regarding deer management.
That being said, please explain why we shouldnt be VERY concerned when a paralell comparisonof two periods a mere year apart shows such drastic change, Crazy Horse makes a valid point when he says ANY business that workswith reveue similar to the PGC's would be scrambling like crazy to find out why and correct such a drastic drop.

BTBowhunter - I sincerely apologize. I will explain all .... soon.My goal was to get Mr. Towarnicki (Crazy Horse) to put up and show the Legislature that the USP has one iota of credibility or thatthe PGC doesn't -with regard to these wonderful claims that license buyers were leaving in droves (40%). I have a history of responding to their claims to set the record straight with our legislators and saw this as one more opportunity to correct their statements. BTW, every letter I've sent to the legislature correcting their "facts" has NEVER been countered or refuted. Hmmmm.
If you want, please e-mail me directly at [email protected] for further info. The PGC is more open and transparent than many imagine.
