RE: Mountain Lions Are Absolutely in PA (photo Added)
The problem with studying the photos and staring at them is that eventually the mind starts to play tricks and you seem to see what you want to see. The thing that sticks out to me is that I can't see ears on this critter. mountain lions have ears. Also, in the original photo, the color is wrong. A mountain lion is not brightly colored, but sort of faded. I will keep an open mind.
This is the color a mountain lion should be: http://photobucket.com/albums/v440/patrkyhntr17252/?action=view&current=lion.jpg |

There are 3 reasons I can immediately think of as to why I think the color is not the same as the color in the photo you provided:
1. The eastern cougar is not the exact same species as those in the west. 2. This photo was taken in July (summer coat vs. winter coat.) For instance, deer aren't red-brown in the winter like they are in the summer. 3. My uncle is not a professional photographer, so I am sure his cameradid not capture the color perfectly. (i.e. look at thecolors of the plants in the photo - they seem to be too yellow and too bright green.) - Gr8ful |

Put it this way. If I was hunting mountainlion and I saw what that photo shows, I'd shoot. How about all you doubters. Would you shoot, if you were hunting mountainlion andwere using a predator call and saw that animal?

Exposures that are not right will affect color balance in the prints. The people making the prints at the lab are terrible at color balance, as evidenced in the horrendous prints I have in my albums.

I live on the North Shore of MA and we have had cougar sightings here! some officials said the tracks confirmed it as a cougar but then wildlife experts came in and changed the story saying it could not be proven. The sightings were frequent for awhile but have now tapered off. I heard a story of a cougar a few cities over that was killed, turned out it was the escaped pet of a biker gang. This could just be one hell of a story though. But that pic in PA def aint no frick'n bobcat.
Jim P.S. here is a link to the story! Just trying to help out all of you that say they are in NE. http://www.thebostonchannel.com/news/2480632/detail.html |

Hey, how about this... Even if the photo clearly and unmistakably showed a cougar. What in the photo would prove the picture was taken in P.A? There are no landmarks or anything to connect thepic to pa other than a claim. I've seen dozens of cougar pictures that were claimed to be taken in NY that turned out to be nothing more than a cougar pic taken in Colorado or some other western state. The famous hoax here was the one where the cougar was following a deer but the hoaxers were too dumb to realize the deer in the pic was a mule deer. We don't have many of those here in NY.
