Yes - extended season in Feb for Lisc hunters to hopefully gather 600 doe and drag them to ck in stations.I said Jan in Error. Alot of dates and time frames thrown around at meeting other night, still rattling around in my head. Its all going to be posted on F&W web site and paper.

Thanks AJ! I will do what I can to help. Im usually NOT for extra seasons as everyone well knows, but if they need this study to further a good mgmt plan, not to mention the fact they are going to get their 600 deer whether we participate or not, I'd rather it be the hunters that help than paid guns. I'm really excited that DNREC is doing this. Im really looking forward to seeing their findings and what plan they impliment next year!

Last night I attended the Deer Management Workshop at Georgetown, this is the first time I have been to a workshopbutit won't be the last time. I went to the meeting knowing that if I killed a doe in JanuaryI would take it to a check station.I Don't alwaysagree with everything, that Fish and Wildlife does. But I think they are doing everything they can to manage the deer herd at the present time

what makes me mad about this, is they want the deer killed but we cant hunt on sundays. some of us get to hunt all the time but for the ones that work all week and can only hunt on sat., it would be nice to hunt on sunday also, legally anyway.

My opinon is, DNREC either doesnt want or cant afford to have personnel available on Sundays to do any work related to Sunday hunting (eg; WMA lotteries, enforcement, etc). Thats just an opinion, I very well could be wrong. The bottem line is, I dont think we'll ever see it in DE. Its a shame because like you said smokey, if they want more deer harvested, dont add more seasons, adddays when more people would be able to hunt. Sundayswould be thebest for theweekly working man. Well,I hope some day things will change,,,,

Its politics not Greg Moore.Hunting on Sunday is a sore subject in the legislature due to public opinion against it.Same thing with the handgun legislation.I was told point blank, there was some highly suspect poilitical favors/swapping in order to get the bill passed.Nobody thought it would ever get passed inc F&W.
