climber for larger trees
I was wondering if someone can help me. Im looking for a climber that can work on as large a tree trunk as possible. I have summit and love it. However I find that the cable needs to be longer to wrap around bigger trees. I called the company and they said no one ever asked that! I find that the diameter of tree with summits in less than olderstands I've used. Someone told me its a safety issue with summit. Can someone reccomend another stand?

I haven't seen any climbers that will do a tree larger than 20-22" . Safety may be an issue there , but weight would be my guess . Heavy climbers don't sell well . Have you considered ladder stands ?

I have a Summit Viper and love it, yet I find myself having to carefully pick out trees to climb. Most trees are either too thin or too thick where the "good spots" are. My buddy has a Loggy Bayou and can climb thicker trees with it. It's an older one so I don't know if the newer ones can handle the thicker trees.
