Ive hunted a lot of it southeast of Salem Mo,, never heard of Monroe, but the hunting is really good around here, but it is a very vast place to hunt, and almost all timber and clearcuts so you just have to get in there and put in the footwork.

Monre is in the North centralk part of Mo. No national forest there but some Mo. conservation areas. SE Mo. sucks as a place to hunt deer. I know as I live in the eastern Ozarks.

i used hunt around there some friends have 280 acres on the southeast edge, Deer hunting is good some big racks but tiny deer not much agriculture for them to fatten up on. Also watch out for the big kitty cats pretty thick populations of mountain lions around there. good luck
