Early October...you can expect anything. I've hunted IL in october in the snow, rain, wind, heat, fob, humity, etc. At this time of year....you can't predict the weather in IL for the coming October. Best bet, as the time draws near, keep checking the weather and pack as you see it.
I would pack for layers. Can always layer to be warm in the cold. Shed layers if it's warm. Don't forget rain gear.

lou lou I live in the area and like the others have said, the weather in october can range from very cool temps to very hot temps. be prepared for any temp from 40 to 90 degrees.

hey lou lou i hunt 15 minutes away from mt. sterling and all i can is i think the most important thing to have is a good pair of coveralls, boots and gloves those are really the three main things
