well i have a question about getting into the early season goose season. i am an upland hunter, looking to go into waterfowl. i would like to try the early goose season this year, and maybe duck. i was curious on what permits and licencies i would need for this. i am also intrested in the main regulation on the early season. i would be hunting on state land in northern illinois(i was thinkning of Desplains, Chain o lakes, Kankakee River) do those areas allow early season? are there any other good areas in the north east zone?. my other question is what permits licences, and other materials do you need for the early season. thanks

Besides your hunting license and habitat stamp you will need your Federal and State Waterfoul stamps. You also need to call and get your HIP number. As for the area you will have to check the new Hunting regulation book when it comes out for open areas and the date. There is a full waterfoul regulation book that comes out after the regular Hunting Digest that you will want to check out.
I do know the north east area of IL is very good, I hunted up aroud Harvard IL 2 years ago with a friend wo lives up there. I hope that helped you some.
Good Luck
