My brother was out for a hour yesterday and all day saturday checking stands and a little bow hunting. No deer but he saw 19 does and 6 bucks, 4 of which were big boys. The rut is on. Can' t wait for the season.

Well, I made it home again this weekend, and got a little hunting in. I went sat. morning and didnt see a whole lot, as i was getting down i walked to the edge of a field by my stand and saw 2 does out there so i walked down the line a little and waited for them to come. well they didnt, but they got spooked and i saw a fairly decent 6 point he was rootin around at the end of the field, then i see something moving and all of the sudden a very nice 8 or 10 cand out of a draw by the 6 and chased him off, and the big one went back in, i waited a while longer and didnt see anything so i went home for the morning. Went out sat afternoon and didnt see anything till just about dark. 4 does came up the field line, im hunting in a stand about 45 yds in the timber facing the field, adn they walked the line. so i was about to get out and heard something behind me so i waited and here comes a decent buck, stopped at 25 yds, i drew, and missed!, AHHH, clean miss though, hit a log behind the deer and lost my arrow too. so, that was my weekend. Talked to the farmer next to me last night. He said he watched 2 large bucks squaring off with each other on our back field for 10 minutes. He said the rut is in full swing plenty of deer movement all day. If those big boy are there next week my 13 year old should have his first buck. Thank God for Carrol County: Big Deer, Plenty of Deer and no Huntersl It does not get ant better then that.
