CARROLL COUNTY ILLINIOS
Went out today to check out the tree stands. A lot of corn is cut out here. Saw plenty of ground scrapes but no fresh rubs. Looking forward to gun season. Anyone else hunt inCarroll?
New Jersey guy you ever coming back out West?
Plenty of true trophies are always running out here. My son and I both saw a 12 pt. montser last year but he was way to smart to get into shooting range. I know all the hunters on our bluff and nobody shot him last year so hopefully he is still around.
Good hunting.

I'll be upland and waterfowl hunting out there this year, and thinking about deer (in Carroll) for next season. Nice county. I just can't stop getting upset when I see the Nuke sticking out of the scenery when driving out there. Then again, we have the coal plant and Nuke along the Lake here.

I don't hunt in carrol but I hunt the south eastern corner of jodavies. Glad to hear that most of the corn is down. I haven't been out to the property since we set up our stands in the beginning of Sept. Can hardly wait until tomorrow. I have a good feeling that we are going to see some action...

We put the safety belts on our tree stands on Sunday. Kicked up a nice 8 pt(you could smell how musty he was)and a really big 10 pt both by my stands. Saw a nice group of does also. There was plenty of new scrapes but not many rubs. Neighbor said he also saw a nice 10 chasing a doe out of a small wooded area by his barn. You could see how swollen their necks were. the rut is on in Carroll.
