I was wondering if anyone on here lives around the Hill City area in the Black Hills and if you are seeing any signs of rut or if you could tell me when the rut usually starts.

The pre rut is just getting started out here. Have been bowhunting and seen some bucks starting to chase a little. the bucks are still in bachelor groups though. I heard a couple sparring on saturday afternoon but it was fairly mild. The peak won' t be for 2-3 more weeks.

Things are picking up and we have had good snowfall aleady

now thats what i like to hear, i was suprised to wake up to the white stuff this morning, but it should be good for the west river gun hunt comin up this wkend.cant wait.
