I agree with alot of what you say, but i am not one to tell someone else how to hunt or what to shoot. they have paid there licence fee and bought there tags. everyone has there own trophy and tablefare. yes i saw alot of small deer at the checkin station this year, but i also saw a bunch dead on the side of the road also. my question has always been how well can the dnr moniter the herd from behind a desk by looking at the harvest totals. so im told theres only one game warden for each county. 88 countys what kind of mileage do these guys walk a year to keep a tally ? i personally have yet to meet a game warden in the woods.( only wile fishing and he didnt get out of his truck ) now mabe theres something im missing here, air survelance, trail timers, how they doin it ?

I agree, People in my area shoot every buck they see. I've gone 2 years now without filling my buck tag because I passed on many small bucks, just to see the gun hunters go out and shoot them all. I hunt mostly on land that I alone have permission to hunt and try to manage the age of the bucks taken, But have no control over the neighbors land, they even push through my land without permission to get the small bucks. well, this seems bad but if you go about it right it can be turned around. knew a guy that had this same problem with others pushing the deer off his land into their area. he knew who they were and where they were from, even knew where they would have breakfast before the "big hunt". this went on for several years before he came up with a plan. he did his recon, knew wich way they always pushed the deer outa there. set himself up on the most likely excape run the deer liked, and his son and two other relatives on the other vantage points on the property. well the boys came through as planed the guy got a nice 10 pointer and the son shot a doe. well after the sucessfull hunt the guy and his relatives headed off to check there deer in, but not before a stop for lunch at the local dinner to thank the boys for such a fine job driveing those deer right to them.
well there anger was enugf that they never came back. now im not condoneing anyones actions here but i thought everyone involved got what they deserved.
