Where in southern Illinois are you going? I drew a JEPC 1st & 2nd gun season permit and will be in Petersburg Nov. 13-23 if I don't fill my 2nd buck tag in Joliet. Great my girlfriend decided to try bowhunting because now I'll have something to do while waiting for my special hunt. I'll be on stand coaching her through her entire hunting season!
We did get to Cabela's yesterday for 3 hours and got her PSE bandit all set up! My son's old bow fits her perfect for poundage and draw length! She is shooting pretty good, and is an office manager with a company where she can shoot indoors every day until season. She loves it so far. I'm glad I picked this season to fill my first tag so quick, so she can have my undivided attention without distraction. I will put her in excellent shooting situations and expect her to kill a nice buck this year. No doubt in my mind she will do it!

This gal is wearing me out. Want to know what we did Saturday? She had us hike the perimeter trail of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. It was 26.2 miles. We did it in 9 1/2 hours. Some sort of dream of hers.

Thats a long hike but sounds like you're having fun. My girl talked me once into doing a part of the Apallatian Trail in TN, 50lb of gear and 11-15 miles each day up and down mountain sides. It's fun but I felt my legs for the next week.
On a side note, do you hunt Midewin? I'm interested in heading out there just beacause it's close to where I work (Orland Park) just not sure what are to focus on, it's like 7000 ac total.

I gave RB my oldest son's starter bow and she is shooting perfect broadhed patterns from 20 yards. She's been bowhunting 5 times and doing great. Photo is of her biking out one of our stands & climbers 4 miles. She has the packs on her bike full as well. She is aworkout fanatic.
