RE: INDIANA hunters
Glad it wasnt just my area, the deer must not be moving much. The wind sure was blowing sunday morning that I am sure had an effect on their movement.
The good news is I saw 2 shooters around our property after the opener so with some luck they will move by while I am out in a stand. I will have pics up of my brothers 7 point as soon as they are approved in my gallery. |

RE: INDIANA hunters
Woke up this morning to hunt, and saw a trash-can being blown down the street...with trash still in it. Damn, that's a bit too windy for me. Hopefully this afternoon it calms down.

Deer numbers seem to be down in west central Indiana this season. (EHD)
For opening week-end we didn't see as many deer as usual. We did see one real nice one however. http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i36/eelriver/picsnpic003.jpg |

Very nice love those tall racks. We are noticing the same thing, not as many deer moving around. I would imagine the wind is hindering there movement some but not sure. I cant get back out until tomorrow afternoon.

RE: INDIANA hunters
I sat in the mist yesterday afternoon, only to have some retard come out of the edge of the woods doing Navy Seal techniques after I hit my grunt tube a few times. Boy did I get a chuckle out of that, but it soon passed when I realized that any deer in the area were long gone.
After that excitement passed, another retard pulled up in his truck, and tossed some old lawn chairs out into the junk pile he has going in the woods acrossed the field from me. To add to my spectacular evening of hunting, I got my muzzleloader out of it's case when I got home. From sitting in the misty rain all afternoon, the whole thing already had a evil layer of rust starting. Needless to say, I didn't go out in the rain this morning. |

RE: INDIANA hunters
I have not hunted since saturday. Had a cold that has been kicking my butt. Was going to go this morning but slept in. Took my father out on a drive this evening by where i shot my 8 point a few weeks ago and sure as s*** on the right hand side of the gravel road not 20 yards from the road stood a wallhanger. Just stood there for 2 minutes or so looking at us. Nice tall rack. Got ready to take off and looked to the left hand side, another wallhanger, along with 3 does and a 6 point that were partially hidden down in a ditch along the field. They ended up running off into the woods i hunt. I can not believe the quality of bucks out there this year, i know i have passed up a ton of em over the years but up until this year had seen no improvement. They are everywhere now it seems. My wife got a license this year, gonna try and put her on one saturday morning.
