Hello everyone I'm new to all this but I glad there is a place to talk to other Indiana hunters!!! I hunt in jennings county and have seen several deer so far and shot at a doe yesterday and a spike a week ago. But this is my first year bowhunting and forgot my release when I shot at the buck and a limb cost me the doe but thats the way it goes I quess.
Check out the site in my sig line some time , it's an Indiana specific site with lots of good info and fellas .

Seen the same 3 does tonight that i saw yesterday morning. Good news is that the neghbors corn was getting picked tonight and the property owner where i hunt was getting ready to pick when i left. Found out that stand i found the other day belongs to a guy that does have permission to hunt in there. He was out there tonight too. Makes me a little nervous becuase that woods isnt very big and he put his stand less then 50 yards away from 2 of mine. I'll probably move at least one come shotgun time.

Goin' out in the morning if I don't wake up sick. I was running a really low grade fever tonight with a little nausea, felt like crap, but after walking around a giant subdivision for two hours for kids trick or treat, I feel better. Hopefully I won't wake up in the morning with a fever. Ought to be good with the fall in temps overnight.

They hung around and had a huge buck look right at them about 60 yard from them and didn't come in i think he may have been on a doe how he was acting

The rut is definitely on in my neck of the woods. Saw about 12 deer this morning, 4 does, plus I watched the big one I missed at about 150 yards for most of the morning.

All but one buck was chasing one or numerous does with heads down. I couldn't figure out why the big boy was hanging out within 20 yards of the same spot all morning until I saw him chase a doe up the ridge.

Closest we had to us was 80 yards though.

The best part of the hunt was hearing some rattling antlers during a fight. Lasted about 3 or 4 minutes and we saw deer scattering all over the place after that!

We will be out tomorrow and Friday mornings! Wouldn't miss it for the world!

Wonderful morning in the whitetail woods today got out a little later then planned but was OK at around 7:30 a 2 1/2 year old6 point walked around constantly looking for a doe he got to about 20 yard and saw a doe and was after her then at 9 a huge doe came trotting by with a2 1/2 on her her tail but I've saw this buck 6 times now i think he hasan OK left side and the right is a single point that sticks up about 5 or 6 inches. talking to some other hunters in my dorm and we are all seeing a lot of little bucks chasing but the bigger ones are not as interested

Today kinda sucked for me. I too got to the woods a little late, around 7AM. Didnt see the other guys truck anywhere around so figured i had the place to myself. Get up in my stand and start with my calls. Not 2 minutes after i grunt i hear another set of grunts coming from along the fence line. Thought that was pretty strange. So im standing there watching a group of about 12 deer in the partially cut corn field when i notice something odd looking in a tree not 20 yards away from me down the hill. Thought it was a hunter but then thought no way there was no vehicle. Then about 5 minutes later i caught movement and sure enough, there sat some moron not 20 yards from me in a climber. To top it off, his buddy comes crashing through the woods to pick him up at 8AM. Nothing like ruining a good morning. They ended up leaving along the back side of the corn field, still dont know where they came from since i didnt see a vehicle. I suppose it was the dude that was there last night with a friend. One thing for sure, this place isnt big enough to have 3 guys in there at once, i might as well be hunting public land at this rate.

I plan on going in the morning. Hope its a good one because I haven't had much luck yet or seen the amount of deer I should be seeing. Haven't seen any rut activity around here I know they are not responding to a grunt call. I let everyone know how it goes.

I'll be out fri-sun, then wed-sun next week. Time to kill. Weather is looking good so far too.
