wounded deer

It might live this year their was a deer by my buddys house that had an arrow hanging out of its a$$for atleast 3 weeks and it seemed to get around jus fine till it got shot during rifle season, But on the other hand I seen a deer get shot in the a$$ with a bow and it only went 50 yards and died best blood trail i have ever seen

There is a very large artery (femoral) that supplies the hind quarters and legs with fresh blood. Hit the femoral and the deer will bleed out quickly. While it may seem like a mystery why some deer expire quickly and others seem to survive, it often comes down to missing or hitting a major artery ...........dabow
