Thinking abought leasing my land for hunting ?

I,m thinking abought leasing my land to another hunter or two ?
I will hunt there myself , but because of expenses of planting food plots , upkeep of the land mowing , trimming trails . etc. and TAXES $$$$ .
I own abought 80 acres of prime whitail , turkey , grouse , bocats , etc. land .
I border a non hunting land owner and one other hunting land owner who is a farmer .
I,m thinking abought placing an ad to lease it during this deer hunting season .
Any ideas as far as price ? weekly, or monthly ?
I was thinking of asking $200. for the first 2 weeks and if successful ad $100. for a doe or $200 for a buck ?
next 2 weeks would be $250. for every 2 weeks until the end of the season plus the doe or buck fee .
Of course I have to have some rules as far as limits, correct licences , , taking legaly , and references .
Any ideas , does this sound fair or ?
I have 2 permanent enclosed stands set up and 2 ladder stands set up now .
I,d have no problem with using ground blinds or ladder stands in other locations if needed .

First, I would make sure my insurance policy would cover me if something happened. Don't just take the agents word for it, get it in writing and look at you policy. I would also want to feel comfortable that the other hunters are safe, ethical and do not do things that can create a wildfire.
Is there any demand for hay bales in your area? If so, how about planting some alfalfa or clover on part of it and have a farmer pay for the number of bales? This could help cover some of your expenses.
Sorry, I have no suggestions as to lease rates for hunting.

I've never heard of a lease quite like that. Most hunters aren't going to pay fees to hunt plus killing fees. Sounds more like an outfitter. It would probably be best just to charge a one season fee, but have a set limit on what may be taken. Afterall, 80 acres isn't a whole lot of land for three hunters. Where are you located? Down here, you can get on a pretty decent lease for $500 to $800 a year. It may be higher where you are, wherever that may be.

Do you have any buddies that hunt? I hunt on 550 acres that my family owns with 5 other guys. They pay $800 a year + an aditional $25 fee for planting costs. We try to harvest only mature bucks (4.5+) and does by permit. Each person is responsible for their stands and food plot preparation. The land is in two different sections. Each hunter has a primary hunting area (chosen by seniority) and there are also two large neutral areas to hunt (about 80 acres each). The $25 pays for food plots in these areas. We have hunted like this for 8 years now and we have a waiting list to get on. So far, it has worked really well. The key is having good communication and, more importantly, good hunters. My advice - with the size property you're talking about I would offer it as a lease for 1 good friend to hunt with you and split the costs with a little extra to put back into the land. I would look at having him carry insurance to hunt on the property as mentioned earlier.

In my are there is no private land to hunt unless you pay the land owner .
There is public hunting land but its pretty far out of the way and very lttle for wildlife .
I just figured It would be a little cheaper in the long run if a hunter didnt harvest deer, rather than charging for a seasonal rate .
Loctaed in Northern NY . Very close to the boarder .
There a plenty of deer on my land and I have taken some dandy bucks .
Prime hunting around here is hit and miss .
There seam to be very good areas and some not worth hunting .
I,ve owned and hunted this land since 1990 .
I see deer almost on every hunt , and I to let the smaller deer walk .
Thanks for the ideas .
