RE: Lake Carlyle Tournament May 16th
I have a few pics of my spread of fish after the tourny. We came in 2nd place with 116lbs. We shot a ton of fish but couldnt run into any decent buffs. We had some nice size carp and gar just were lacking in the buffalo department. Anyway it was a blast. A bit windy in a few spots but we went out and had a great time. It was good to see 21 boats turn out.
This was our big 15.
Time to weigh in.
2nd place!!!!! 116 lbs
101 fish.
And another shot of the fish.
3rd Place team.
What a good time. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves. I know other people were taking pictures. Getem out here!!!!

The pre tournament meeting....
Maybe we should make the rules meeting shorter...
Pre-launch group photo...
Once we got going Christine was on fire. She got two doubles in two hours.
How do you like the camo job on the CIRFCU?
The best part is they were within 10 feet of the same place. two hours apart.
Then, back to the weigh-in

Nice job guys and great photos. I wish I could have been there but it was my son's high school graduation. Sounds like the Carlyle shoot should be a regular thing. Was the water real high and stained after all the rain from the day before? How about posting the results, of course I'm not impatient

WOW, 21 BOATS That is fantistic. Looks like a lot of new faces. Hardly recognize anyone. No one has said how it was below the spillway on Saturday nite. We are less than a month away from being able to shoot down there so 'Inquiring minds' want to know. My Cousin has had June 15 marked to be off for the past 9 months. Would like to see in follow up to Robs question how the officers in the club made out in the standings??

RE: Lake Carlyle Tournament May 16th
... well maybe we shouldn't have given everybody a two hour head start.
Kendall and I ended up going all the way up to the Tamalco (sp?) ramp. It was about as far away of a ramp from the starting point that we could find.
(We weren't sure how crowded the west access and Hazlet would be so we left those areas to the other teams.)
The water was really muddy and the wind was killer but we found two tiny spots out of the wind. There were fish in there but nothing real big and we might have seen one buff but that was it. (and we didn't hit it)
We cruised up north a bit to what must have been the Kaskaskia flowing into Carlyle. Just about had to run the big motor to fight the current. It looks like it would be a really neat place once the water drops down a bit and sans the 30mph winds.
There's an eagle nest there too. The eagle seemed amused by our efforts to find some buffs.
It was a good time. Thanks everybody!
Johnny, the spillway wasn't anything to get excited about. The water was really stained and if the bigheads were up, we didn't see 'em. The guys started driving their boats slowly around in circles with lights on and shot at the silvers instead. At one point there were five boats up there. We ended up just shooting some gar.
As far as the officers placing in the tourney. Dave's team didn't get a lot of weight but his team had some big smiles so that counts for a lot. I'm not sure if his shooters had ever shot from a boat before. K and I ended up with 68.6 pounds. We had some nice gar but just so-so carp and no buffs. We still came in first place in the Pontoon boat division. [8D]

Glad to see that you placed. I know that pontoon division is a tough one. Especially with the amount of entries. I know i did not see a picture of Todd M in any of the pictures. Still cant wait to go down next month and shoot some big heads..
