Default Light Systems!?! HELP!!

I need some help badly!! Got a 2000 watt generator to go into the boat and need to set up a lighting system....what is the best way to go? 6 250 watt lights? 4 500's? 2 500s and 4 250's? Or is that too much load and should we go with 6 smaller ones? I have seen mention of 150's???

What do all of you run????

Thanks, need to get er done by this weekend!!!!

Just remember that you should try to stay under 80% of the running wattage rating for your genny. So if you have a 2000 watt, you should stay with 1600 watts or less.
If you want them by this weekend, halogens are probably the easiest to find. You could easily run 5 - 300 watt halogens.

Good Luck to you.

My choice would be six of the GE Halogen 225 Ultra bulbs, approximately same lumens as a 300 watt bulb with less amp draw or consider 4 HPS 150 watt housing and lamps, most lumens but more $

I just rigged my boat with all 300 watt bulbs. I do notice a difference from the 500's, but I don't think it affected our shooting. Last weekend at the Billy Davis Memorial Shoot I was only using 6 300 watt lights up front and it was plenty. You would do great with 5 300 watt lights right from Menards or Home Depot. Otherwise I'm getting HPS lights next. They've come way down in cost and are roughly twice the light output per the same wattage as halogens.
