I had fun tooling around in my itty bitty boat.
It's a little 8' by 4' Bass Hunter http://www.basshunter.com/smallboats.htmlthat I got real cheap, and threw a new 36lb troller on it. I made a quick platform for the front out of wood the night before taking it out, and it worked great. I'll lighten it up a bit before spring so the nose of the boat doesn't dip when I stand forward.

I have to thank Steve for the lead on the boat. He's been urging me to get my own, and kept me aware of small boats that were for sale in our area. This tiny rig should do well on small waters where the carp hang in very shallow water deep up in coves. Even loaded down with a large battery and a heavy platform it still only drafted a few inches of water.
I may have to run a stringer for fish on a good day since deck space gets kind of scarce.

The folks at Sunset lake were great. Very hospitable and welcoming. I didn't expect any of them to come out in the cold and rain, but several did so to express their thanks for our effort. They were giving us tips on where they see the fish most often too. The lake'sassociation president seemed quite impressed when I told him we've taken over 6,000 fish this year alone. Heappeared quite sure that he's got the right people on the job trying to help out his lake.

It was good to see you guys again too, and of course thanks for the coffee that helped me warm up back at Christine and Kendall's place.
Steve, you should buy any bow that you can just pick up and shoot that well. It's like it was made for you, like some kind of magical connection.
Nock an arrow, draw back, dead deer. Itjust suitsyou...
...but of course the deer are going to hate it.

No prob on the boat lead dood! Just wanted to help get you on the water. And I have a strong feeling you won't regret the purchase. It looks like it's just the ticket.

As for the longbow, I just got home with it. I couldn't resist! The only other trad bow I've ever shot that well was a custom longbow that was close to $1000.00. I couldn't believe it fit me that well. We'll see if the deer have anything to fear, or just the 3-D targets.

I hope we can all have a nice little get-together at Sunset next spring. Then we can go stomp cheeseballs into Christine and Kendall's carpets.
