Whenever you can go. We are cleared by the Lake owners to go anytime. (weekdays would probably be best) Give me a call Ken. 309 825-8844

William, Sunset is down by Bloomington/Normal. It is an 11 acre lake.

The lake is for small boats only. There is no launch, so you will have to carry the boata short way to thewater. Canoes and 8 to 10 footers are just about perfect.

I went down there a couple of weeks ago, but all I could get to come to the surface were catfish, and lots of 'em. Big grassies in there, just didn't see them that day.

We went there yesterday afternoon (7-11) around 4:30 and saw about 6 at the shore. Saw plenty more of those huge subs just hanging out around the surface in the middle. Unfortunately the two that I got shots at; one I shot under, and the other I hit but got a pull off. I did see about a 30+ lb monster that came up for some food. I was in such shock I couldn't do anything[&o] Oh well there is always next time; especially since I only work 10 min. from the lake

How do you get to the lake from springfield? Do we need permission every time we go?

Hey David,

From what I understand we do not need permission every time; however, make sure (as with any other hunting) respect everyones property as if it was your own.....

The way to get there from Springfield would be 55 North to 74 West. Take that to Exit 120 (Carlock). Make a right and go East to the stop sign. Continue East (you will now be on State Hwy 150). Once you pass a body shop on your left (Piercy's) It will be your next road on the left) Turn Left and go north about 3.5 miles. 1st you will see a little pond on your right. Pass that up and you will begin seeing a small subdivision on your right. The lake is right there.

Have fun!
