IDAHO PRIVATE OR PUBLIC LAND HUNTS
Private land hunts.
Chief Joseph, Idaho is proud to offer sportsman an opportunity to hunt one of the finest elk herds in the world. Dr. Rex Rammell, a devout big game sportsman and veterinarian specializing in wildlife management, envisioned ten years ago what today has become Chief Joseph, Idaho. Our herd of approximately 250 head of Rocky Mountain Elk with Yellowstone genetics provides hunters a legitimate opportunity to take some of the largest bull elk in North America. We have a full section of private land with a free ranging herd of elk. Featuring an elite resident herd of Rocky Mountain elk, professionally managed on private land bordering the Targhee National Forest.
Managed strictly for trophy bull elk scoring an average of 350 points, the exceptionally large number of huge bulls has the hunting community talking. Our big game management program taking into account age, genetics, and natural elk habitat have all been combined to consistently produce top scoring trophy bull elk.
Public land hunts.
Chief Joseph Outfitters is the outfitting entity for Chief Joseph, Idaho. Skilled hunters and fishermen make up our professional guide team and in cooperation with other outfitters in Idaho, we have our thumb right on the pulse of the best hunting and fishing locations in Idaho. Southeast Idaho may be our destination for a trophy mule deer hunt, while the Salmon River country (only a few hours away) may be the place for the really big tom mountain lions. We won’t travel any further than we have too and we’ll cover all the expenses, but be assured, you’ll be hunting and fishing the best Idaho has to offer.
We offer hunts for elk, mule deer, mountain lion, bear as well as some of the finest fishing in the country.
