Steiner 8x30 Predator binoculars
#1
Anyone familiar w/ these binos? (Steiner Predators 8x30) I am thinking of purchasing them b/c they are w/in my budget, but I wanted to get other opinions first. I don't like the focus on each eyepiece or the 'auto' focus that you supposedly get after that, but I'm open to suggestions. Any help is appreciated!

Not sure about the Predator model but my 8 x 30 Steiner Military-Marine model is great. I like it because its made in Germany & the glass is multi-coated and very sharp. I've had mine over 10 years & love them. Never had a single complaint & the weight at only 17 ounces is a big positive. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. I see them on Ebay & the used ones are very reasonable.

The predator series is awesome. You won't be disappointed, that's for sure. They have some great glass with some awesome coatings, which let a lot of light in. I've tried them all, many times over, even today..lol

I recently bought a pair of the 8x30 Predators and love them! The clearity is great and I particularly wanted the autofocus. Also, the weight is easy to manage. You only have to adjust the diopter adjustments one time and you're good to go at any distance. The reason you have separate adjustments is each eye might see differently (glasses wearers can relate). You can fine tune each eye piece to the best clearity, so the overall picture you see with both eyes is clear.
