What's the difference between the Leupold Quick Release base and rings? Do you need both the QR base and rings, or just one or the other?

I have a Knight DISC and I am trying to mount a Leupold VX II scope on it w/ the QR base and/or rings and can't find the right size for my muzzleloader. Anyone have any ideas/websites? Cabelas doesn't seem to have muzzleloaders listed under their QR systems...

Here is a little information that will help you. As for the bases, you have 2 options, the QR or QRW mounts. The following numbers are the for the QR bases and rings:

Bases: 2 piece
(52240)-Gloss
(52239)-Matte

Rings:
Low-(49970)Gloss (for a VX-II 3-9x40)
-(49971)Matte
High-(49978)Gloss (for a VX-II 3-9x50)
-(49979)Matte

I think if you get the QR rings you must get the bases to match. If you get the QRW rings you can mount them on any Weaver base.
