I am looking for a scope for my muzzleloader (1-5 x 32, 10.5" long, reasonable price) and am probably going to go with a Bushnell Banner. I have several Bushnell scopes and have been pleased. Any input on these or other brands/models? I liked the looks of the reticle in the Simmons Pro Diamond and hear that Tasco's quality has improved over the years.

I use a Bushnell Elite on my ML and have a number of pals who use the banner-Elite on ML's and rifles. I haven't heard to many complaints on Bushnell for the price. I personally wouldn't consider a Tasco as I had a poor experience years agoa and haven't ever consider one since. My hunting partner uses a whitetail classic Simmons on his ML and is pleased.
Since I have no personal experience with any of the models you mentioned, I am not sure I am much use which would be better. IMHO Bushnell makes a decent scope.
Good Luck

Some of the cheaper scopes that have given me years of good service are the Tasco Pronghorn 4X I have four that have been on the following rifles for at least six years. A 300 Win Mag Ruger Bolt gun, a 30-06 Browning semi-auto, a Bolt action 6.5x55 Mauser and a 250-3000 Savage bolt gun. They have worked perfect and none have required any resighting or adjustment in the years we have used them. I have only used the straight 4X in the Pronghorn and can't speak for the variables. I have now or have had six Bushnell Banners from 3X9 to 4X12. and one straight ten power Banner silhouette scope. The 10X Had about 7000 rounds of 308 loads run through two different rifles without any clich whatsoever. None of the Banners have ever showed any sign of a fault. I have only had two Simmons scopes so far. One came on a Savage package gun and works fine after two years use. The other broke on me but I forgot to tighten the ring screws so that was my fault. After about 20 Tasco world class scopes of all types, I am still waiting for my first problem. They have been flawless for me. Some of the World class have been a bit touchy about eye relief but you can tell that while you are still in the store so if it looks good there you should be ok. I have never had one fog up, break a crosshair or change POI. Hope this helps you. On my muzzle loader I would use the 4X Tasco Pronghorn if I wanted a lower dollar scope.

I also have the Simmons Aetec and enjoyed hunting with it.. I know some guys don’t like Simmons scopes. I don’t see nothing wrong with them but on the other hand I haven’t had to deal with customer service either ...YET.....
