I have the Ameristep Outhouse(Ididn' t name it) and love it . The Doghouse is a roomier model , and has a few more features . Both are excellent , although the roomier Doghouse would suit bowhunters better . You can get the base model Doghouse for $69 at: sportsmansguide.com , it weighs 12 lbs.
They also carry the Doghouse TSC model for $149 . The only functional difference on the TSC is a cellophane like membrane over the window areas to contain scent , go for the cheaper one . There is also a blaze camo cap available for it , and a snow camo oversock too . SG doesn' t normally carry these , but I found them on the internet after some brief searching .

My Outhouse will take me anywhere that has a tangled background like where I live , and hides both my form and motion very well . You don' t even need camo while in one if the windows aren' t wide open .

I think Kevin1 pretty much nailed it. I have owned two Doghouses (' 02 and' 03 models) as well as the Doghouse TSC, Penthouse and Hunters View Waterfowler blind. I cannot believe that I did not try them sooner. They add an entirely new dimension to the hunt.

I will be taking my doghouse with me this weekend when rifle starts here in PA.

PABowhntr,do you use the blaze orange cap on your doghouse?Thinking of trying one here in jersey for buck season, but with all the deer drives need to be seen.

I did not buy the blaze orange cap yet but have rather just tied an orange band around the tree behind the blind...in addition to wearing the regular blaze orange requirements. I do have and have used the snow camo cover for the blind and it does work quite well.

I have been researching these blinds recently and just ordered the Brickhouse model today. If you go to the Ameristep web site they describe each blind in detail and show how to set them up and take them down. That' s what made up my mind for me...ease of take down. Check them out.

Wacker, I bought a Doghouse last summer from www.natchezss.com and paid $79 and change for it plus shipping. It is Mossy Oak Breakup camo with all the new features on it. I bought mine mainly for turkey hunting next spring when the weather gets too bad to sit out in the rain. I haven' t actually hunted out of mine yet but have had it set up a couple of times to get familiar with setting it up and taking it down. I would highly recommend one, they are a great blind for the money!
