Default Muzzleloading Scope ??'s

I got a CVA Kodiak Pro .50 cal and I am looking to put a scope on it for deer hunting. My hope is that it can be consistently accurate at about 150-200 yards. Do you think a riflescope (Nikon Pro Staff)would hold up against the kick of a .50 cal. Any input about your experience with scopes or advice would be great. Thanks.

Of course the Nikon prostaff would hold up to the recoil. But since you're going to be shooting at those extended ranges, wouldn't a Nikon muzzleloader scope with BDC reticle and increased eye relief be better?

Yeah I imagine it will. I have a Simmons 2x7x32mm on a CVA Kodiak Magnum .50 cal that has held up quite well over the years. I routinely shoot out to 200 yards with it.

Thanks for the input, its good to hear that the Nikon Pro Staff will hold up to the recoil I am very worried about that aspect. I would like the Nikon Muzzleloader scope but it is a bit to pricy for my pocket.

You may also want to look into the Leupold ultimateslam. Very nice scope for the money.

Cabelas just came out with a ML scope similar to the omega bdc, im not sure who makes scopes for them, but i was looking at it on the website for $99. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat602006-cat601560&id=0064068713116a&navCount=1&amp ;podId=0064068&parentId=cat601560&masterpa thid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IK&ri d=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601233& hasJS=true
You cant beat there customer service either if you have problems with any Cabela brand item.

Nikon Prostaff 3-9X40 with BDC here. Plenty of eye relief.
