Recommended pistol scope?

I'm going to post this ??? in a couple spots. And yes, I have tried to search this.
I'm looking for a pistol scope for my T/C Encore in 30-30. I only shoot it now and then, so I'm not really wanting to spend Swarovski or Zeiss or even Leupold money. But I know I won't be happy with junk either. I'm looking for a scope that gives me ample eyerelief (you don't want to shoot this thing near your face!), very good field of view (probably the most important feature), and a fixed 4 power would do nicely. It will be used in hunting situations where you would draw quickly, locate target and shoot.
I live and hunt in Wyoming and our G&F regs do not allow any scope or hunting eqipment that uses " artificial light". So all the Red Dot/Green Dot scopes are out. (All you Wyoming guys might contact your legislator to get this changed).
So . . . what do ya think?

I own a few pistol barrels for my Encore,15' 7mm-08,.223 and a .375 JDJ. Try Weaver scopes,I have 2 of them, one on the 08 and the other on the .223. They only cost around $200 and they work great...

you can be cheap and still score a leupold if you check the classifieds-ebay-gun broker. i got my pistol scopes for a little over 100$ leupolds have the best eye relief for me . if its a 30-30 get a 4x leupold or something with a 28 or better objective lens. 20mm lens shadow too much for me.

I ended up getting the Nikon Monarch 2 X 20 EER. Very pleased! Great eye relief at varying distances, and typical Nikon clarity. The problem I had with the Leupold was it took too long to find that narrow eye relief "window". The Nikon was right there, BAM! . . . from about 10" to 24".

I think you would get best service out of a fixed power 2x scope, expecially if you're not used to shooting with a handgun scope or if you may encounter quick shots. It's not like you're going to be taking shots far enough where you actually need magnfication. A leupold m8 2x or something like it is mighty hard to beat.
