338 Ultra-mag why isn't it more popular?

I deal with facts which are available to me.
Fact-The .338 ultramag has a larger case capacity than the 340wby.
Fact-a larger case capacity provides the potential for more velocity with equal barrel lengths and identical bullets.
Fact-Most people with any experience reloading will realize that this is true reguardless of manufacturers published velocities..

the 300 ultra has more case capacity than the 300 WBY but i've yet to see one outshoot my WBY on the range.maybe case design has something to do with it.

Bigger is not necessarliy better,there is nothing wrong with a 338-06 or a 35 whelen, they can put the game down!Less recoil,and cheaper to reload. They are designed off the 30-06 case,no big magnum her just a honest game getter.No bullet can replace good bullet placement when hunting.Its all in that,99% of the time. Those are the ones i would go with and do have. vangunsmith
