Slug Question

RE: Slug Question
I wouldn't shoot rifled slugs through a rifled barrel. You can but they wont be very accurate. They have a tendancy to jump all over when you do that. Stick with sabots. I shoot the Remington CoreLokt Ultra sabots and have had great success with them.

RE: Slug Question
I cannot stress this enough...call your gun manufacturer and ask to speak with one of the technical gunsmiths.
These guys are paid to shoot these guns, to ensure proper handling and accuracy. Trust me, they know which ammunition shoots best from their guns. And sure, 5/1000 guns may shoot a different brand better, but the other 99.5% of the guns shoot a particular brand the best.
When I purchased a new gun last Spring, I quickly downsized my "arsenal" to 3 different slugs, the Federal Barnes Expander, the Winchester Golds, and the Brennekes. As the techs, who I had spoken with multiple times (probably ~2hrs of phone conversations) had assured me, the Federals gave me consistent 3-shot 2" groups at 100 yards.
