gotta find one
hey i have to find a .22 for my dad...i dont know the exact model of it, but i know its a ruger, it had a black stock (not wood, but not exactly plastic)...had green plates where your hands go, and the side of the butt was indented on both sides...it was made for a scope, had no iron sights on it at all. I faintly remember seeing 10/22 on it, and it had a clip on it...i want to say it was a 10 round clip. If anybody knows where i can get one for a relatively low price, i'd really appreciate it. My dad had one that went through a fire, and I lost it down the road from my house. I'm trying to replace it for him, so if anybody has any info on where i can get a good one for a low price, then I'd really appreciate it.

RE: gotta find one
rockfist, you're prolly taking about a Ruger 10/22. They come with a factory 10 round clip. They come in standard wood stock but there are alot of after market products for it. Here is a link to Ruger 10/22 site:

You can get them almost anywhere including Walmart. They run from $160 new.

RE: gotta find one
Rockfist, if it had replaceable "panels" on each side and had no iron sights, it was probably a 77/22 bolt action. I may be wrong, but I've never seen a standard 10/22 with no sights or those panels on it. Both the 10/22 and 77/22 use the same 10-shot rotary magazine. I'm sorry to hear about the fire, but it shouldn't be too hard to replace it. Good luck.
